“Everywhere man is in disguise! Who is who is unknown! Try to enter the mask and find out who the man inside really is!”
Masks have been used for centuries, in ceremonial rites of passage, as protection in times of war and as ways to hide or reveal the truth. Come explore the many dimensions of masks, delve deeper into the masks you wear, you create or that celebrate you. Make your own mask to honour this process and uncover unknown faces that represent your deeper self. We will guide you through journey work and visualization, embodiment as well as group dialogues about various forms of masks and from here, we will work with raw materials to create our own mask.
Led by Moe Clark (poet, visual artist, performer) and Sharhzad Arshadi (photographer & multimedia artist)
We are only experts with the masks we've worn or have seen worn, but in sharing our experiences, we hope to uncover new truths and have fun while doing so!
